The Korea Society would like to invite your students to Project Bridge 2011 Community Presentation on Tuesday, June 7. Eight New York-based Youth Ambassadors will share their experiences over the last six months, including stories from a 10-day study tour of Korea with their Los Angeles counterparts.

Sixteen high school students from both New York and Los Angeles were selected to participate in the 2010 Project Bridge Program. In addition to bi-monthly workshops covering issues of identity and race, the Youth Ambassadors also received extensive lectures on Korean culture both in a US and Korean context.

The program concluded with a week long immersion study tour of Korea. The Youth Ambassadors were taken to historical sites including the Institute of Korean Royal Cuisine and were treated to homestays with their counterparts at Banpo High School. The students also learned the customs which accompany traditional tea ceremonies during a temple stay at Seonunsa Temple.
